Halsted St. South Halsted Gallery Presents: Spirits and Spaceships June 12, 2009 A collection of work by husband and wife Frankie and Rich Powell, showcasing two uniquely different visual interpretations on spirituality and the magic within the scope of life. Frankie's paintings deal with the spiritual relationship to one's self and the natural world. Her work is populated by dreams, visions, shamanic journeys and symbols of the mystical underworld. They represent a world that surrounds us but one which is often overlooked. Rich's paintings and prints visually display the magical influence which toys and pop culture symbols have on young minds, raising the iconic representation of these simple playthings to mythical proportions.
